December 15 - The Spiritual Vision

 

“I also pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.” –Ephesians 1:18

 

 

Both salvation and eternity with the LORD are tremendous gifts. Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9) and came at the cost of Jesus' death on the cross. Eternity with the LORD is a future gift that each believer can anticipate in this life yet will not experience until after this life. This future hope is a tremendous motivation for holy living, sharing one's faith, and eternal life.

 

All of one’s actions start from one’s mind, and one’s mind is determined according to one’s vision. A spiritual person always has a spiritual vision according to His words. And he prays and works to accomplish the purpose that God wants. Paul was captured by the spiritual vision that he was a person of prayer and preaching (Ephesians 1:18). We need not realize many deeper truths. Still, we need a spiritual vision to see precisely what God has given us. Paul says the spiritual vision has hope, riches, and power (Ephesians 1:18-19). 

 

First, there is hope in the spiritual vision. We ought to have this spiritual vision that can see the hope of God’s calling in us. Our hope puts God’s calling and choosing us before the world's creation as the source (Ephesians 1:4). And we were sealed with the Holy Spirit, and the hope became a guarantee of redemption. This hope will be revealed amid the glory of Jesus (Romans 5:2; 8:15; Col 3:4), and we will dwell with Jesus in the heavenly realms and be like Jesus (1 John 3:2). 

 

Second, there is spiritual richness in the spiritual vision. Christians ought to see the riches of their inheritance, which God gives. We have to realize that God owns all the things in Heaven as well as in the universe. And we are the people owned by God. Hence, we who are redeemed must know that we are nobler and more priceless people than the entire universe through the spiritual vision. We need to feel a sense of ecstasy in this trut

Third, there is a power in the spiritual vision. For the person who believes in the power, this power is the mighty power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is being bestowed by God (Ephesians 1:20). Through our spiritual vision, we ought to see the power that made Jesus come back to life from the dead. This power took us from being children of hell to the children of God and led us into a victorious life that overcomes sin. Even now, God works in those who believe and trust Him with this power. Like Elisha in the Old Testament and Paul in the New Testament, we must have a spiritual vision and live a life of hope, abundance, and power (2 Kings 1:15-17).

“너희 마음 눈을 밝히사 그의 부르심의 소망이 무엇이며 성도 안에서 그 기업의 영광의 풍성이 무엇이며” – 엡 1:18

 

 

구원과 주님과 영원을 함께하는 것은 엄청난 은사입니다. 구원은 그리스도를 믿고 은혜로 말미암아 이루어지지만(엡 2:8-9) 예수님의 십자가의 죽음의 희생이 있었습니다. 주님과 함께하는 영원한 삶은 신자가 이생에서 소망하지만 이생이 끝날 때까지 경험할 수 없는 미래의 선물입니다. 미래의 소망은 우리의 믿음과 거룩한 삶과 영생에 놀라운 동기가 됩니다.  

 

인간의 모든 행동은 마음에서 시작되고 마음은 그 사람의 비전에 따라 결정됩니다.  영적인 사람은 항상 하나님의 말씀이 주는 영적 비전을 가지게 됩니다, 그는 하나님께서 원하시는 목적을 성취하기 위해 기도하며 사역합니다. 사도 바울은 복음 전도자로 항상 기도하며 영적 비전을 보며 사역을 감당하였습니다(엡1:18). 우리에게 필요한 것은 깊은 진리를 깨닫는 것이 아니라 하나님께서 보여 주시는 바로 볼 줄 아는 영적 비전입니다. 바울은 이 영적 비전에는 소망과 풍성함과 권능이 있다고 말합니다(엡1:18-19)

 

첫째, 영적 비전에는 소망이 있습니다. 하나님께서 우리를 부르신 소망이 무엇인지 아는 영적 비전을 가져야 합니다. 우리의 소망은 창세전에 부르시고 택하신 하나님께 있습니다(엡1:4). 우리는 성령의 인치신 바 되었고 구속의 보증의 소망이 있습니다. 이것은 영광 중에 그리스도 안에서 나타나며(롬5:2; 8:15; 골3:4), 주님과 천국에서 영원한 삶을 누리며 주님과 같이 변화되는 소망입니다(요일3:2).

 

둘째, 영적 비전에는 영적 기업의 풍성함이 있습니다. 성도들은 주님이 주시는 기업의 풍성함을 보아야 합니다. 하나님께서 우주와 하늘에 있는 모든 것을 소유하고 계시는 만물의 조물주와 주인이 되십니다. 우리는 하나님께 속한 그의 소유된 백성입니다. 구속 받은 성도들은 우주보다 더 귀하고 소중한 하나님의 자녀임을 깨닫는 영적 비전과 하나님께서 예비하신 영적 기업을 이을 자임을 아는 지식이 있어야 합니다. 

 

셋째, 영적 비전에는 하나님의 권세가 있습니다. 이 권세는은 하나님께서 모든 믿는 자들에게 주시는 예수 그리스도의 부활의 큰 능력의 권세입니다(엡1:20). 그리스도인들은 영적인 비전을 가지고 죽은자 가운데서 예수님을 다시 살리신 하나님의 능력을 믿어야 합니다. 예수님의 이 부활의 권능과 권세가 우리를 어두움의 나라에서 하나님 나라로 옮겨 하나님의 자녀가 되게 하였고 승리의 삶을 살게 하신 것입니다. 지금도 하나님께서는 이 권능으로 주님을 의지하고 믿음으로 살아가는 자들 가운데서 역사하고 있습니다. 우리는 구약의 엘리사와 신약의 바울과 같이 영적 비전을 가지고 소망과 풍성함과 권능의 삶을 살아가는 자들이 되어야 합니다(왕하 1:15-17).
